James Richard Chance, 74, of Warren, died Friday, October 13, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Warren.  He was born August 9, 1943 in Rushville, Ind., the son of Alvin and Irma (Brown) Chance, and had lived in Ohio for over 30 years.

Jim had served in the National Guard and worked as a farmer and as a truck driver.  He enjoyed flea markets and word puzzles.

Surviving are three sons: Timothy and Tommy Chance, both of Greensburg, Ind., and David Chance of Warren; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Charlie Chance of Tennessee; and two sisters: Mary Sandlin of Indiana and Dorothy Davis of Warren.  Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Judy (Lennon) Chance; and a brother, John Chance.

Services are 11:00 am Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Rev. James Dittmar officiating.  Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Park.  Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.
