Janet Woodley Obituary

Janet L. Woodley (Bockelman), 72, of Southington, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, with her family by her side.

Janet, also known as Dolly, was born June 25, 1945 in Warren, the daughter of the late Milton L. and Anna May (Loy) Bockelman.  She grew up in Leavittsburg, graduating from Leavittsburg High School in 1964.  She moved to Warren upon her marriage to William “Bill” Woodley on July 6, 1968, where she lived until moving to Southington in 2004.

She was a homemaker and loved caring for her husband, two children, and pets.  She loved to play bingo, attend family gatherings, and dance the jitterbug.  She also enjoyed playing cards, spending time at her camper, watching her favorite TV shows, cheering for the Buckeyes, and cooking for her family.  Her potato salad and Swiss steak were the best.

Over the years, Janet sailed on a Caribbean cruise with her family, spent time at Geneva-on-the-Lake, and traveled to Las Vegas and Disney World.  However, her favorite place to be was at home with her family, or sitting at a bingo hall, waiting to yell “Bingo!”

She will be sadly missed by her husband Bill, her two children, Billy (Colleen) Woodley of McDonald and Tammy (Joe) Gearhart of Cortland, and her chihuahua, Bandit.  She also leaves three grandchildren, Hunter, Frankie, and Nicky as well as three granddogs Toby, Smokie, and Jax.  Janet is also survived by a brother, Jerry, of Warren, and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her brothers Harold and Milton, by a sister Irene Duncan, and by many beloved pets, including her chihuahua Taco, and her granddogs Trace and Tara.

According to her wishes, cremation is taking place.  The family is hosting a private memorial dinner.
