Dolores (Kunkle) Pettigrew

Dolores Pettigrew, 78, of Weathersfield Township, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in her home.

Dolores was born July 27, 1940 in Cherry Run Apollo, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Dalphine M. (George) Kunkle and came to Ohio in 1966.

She was a 1958 graduate of Vandergrift High School.

Dolores worked in shipping and receiving at the former Hills Department Stores, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Niles.

She enjoyed gambling, playing cards and attending SCOPE in Niles.  Dolores also loved to babysit her grandchildren, to cook and bake and enjoyed being outdoors.

Dolores was married on September 24, 1960 to William L. Pettigrew and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2014.

She will be deeply missed by two children Ted W. (Wendy) Pettigrew of Weathersfield and Monica L. Ray of Niles; a sister Alora I. Yockey of Latrobe, PA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by a brother Frederick “Sonny” Kunkle; a son-in-law Kenneth Ray and a grandson Steven Pettigrew.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David Conrad officiating.

Entombment will follow in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
