Dorothy Jean Rudy, 67, of Howland, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown following a brief illness.
She was born October 30, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late John D. Trevena, Sr. and Ramona Brubaker Trevena.
Dorothy was a graduate of Howland High School and Trumbull Business College, with an associate’s degree in Business Management, and was also a licensed cosmetologist and daycare provider. She operated a daycare service out of her home for more than 15 years, and later retired from a local retail store as a store manager. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, John M. Rudy, whom she married on October 22, 1982; two daughters, Jeanette E. (Roger) Shull and Cindy (Weiss) Rogers of Howland; two sons, Thomas A. (Jennifer) Medve, Jr. and Michael D. Rudy of Niles; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, John “David” Trevena of Mecca; five sisters: Janet Wright of Niles, Elaine Wootton of Howland, Eileen (Frank) Guarino and Judy (Robert) Weyrauch of Hemet, Calif., and Karen (Brian) Miles of Wichita, Kan.
Her parents precede her in death.
Services are 4:00 pm Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home. Friends may call 2:00 to 4:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
