A member of the first graduating class from Warren Western Reserve High School, the Class of 1967, Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as an over-the-road truck driver.  A member of Third Christian Church, he was a big fan of the Buckeyes and the Raiders, and loved going to WGH football games.  He also enjoyed playing cards and wearing his signature hats, especially baseball caps and fishing hats.

He is sadly missed by his beloved wife, Mary (Miles) King, whom he married July 5, 1969; three children: Ereka (Barry) Langford of Warren, Edward L. King, Jr. of Warren, and Stephanie (Eric) Washington of Columbus; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Barbara King, Mary Frances Brown, and Patricia Boykin, all of Cleveland; a brother, Melvin King of Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, Robert and Richard King.
