Edward L. King, Sr., 69, of Warren, entered into eternal rest Monday, June 11, 2018 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born January 5, 1949 in Alliance, the son of Robert William and Lottie (Benson) King, and had lived in Warren since the 1960s.
A member of the first graduating class from Warren Western Reserve High School, the Class of 1967, Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as an over-the-road truck driver. A member of Third Christian Church, he was a big fan of the Buckeyes and the Raiders, and loved going to WGH football games. He also enjoyed playing cards and wearing his signature hats, especially baseball caps and fishing hats.
He is sadly missed by his beloved wife, Mary (Miles) King, whom he married July 5, 1969; three children: Ereka (Barry) Langford of Warren, Edward L. King, Jr. of Warren, and Stephanie (Eric) Washington of Columbus; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Barbara King, Mary Frances Brown, and Patricia Boykin, all of Cleveland; a brother, Melvin King of Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, Robert and Richard King.
Services are 11:00 am Monday, June 18, 2018 at Third Christian Church, 241 First Street S.W., Warren, Ohio 44485, with Rev. Robert Faulkner, Sr. officiating. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the church. The family will also receive friends at 951 Commerce N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485.
