Elizabeth Ardine Platt, 96, of Lordstown, passed away peacefully with family by her side Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at The Shepard of the Valley Nursing Home in Niles.
She was born March 26, 1922, in Warren, the daughter of the late E. Alexander and Elizabeth Mansell of Lordstown.
Deanie was a graduate of Lordstown High School, forever looking on the bright side, always seeing the good. She was the best Mom, homemaker and baker of the most, bestest cinnamon rolls on the planet. On September 4, 1940, she married John W. Platt of Lordstown, her husband of 67 years. Together they had four sons, Ron, Thadd, Bruce and Gary Richard.
She is survived by sons Ronald (Carole) Platt of Newton Falls, Bruce (Prudy) Platt and Gary Richard Platt all of Lordstown. Grandchildren Andrew (Theresa) Platt and their two sons Andrew “AJ” and Rieser of Talmadge, Hayley Platt of Columbus OH and Ellis “Hobie” Platt of Lordstown. She also has many nieces and nephews with great memories of her life.
Besides her mother and father she was preceded in death by her husband John, their son Thadd who was four years old and her two sisters.
Services will be conducted at the Lordstown Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 29, 2018. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Her urn will be buried at Lordstown Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in her name to The Lordstown Christian Church, 6370 Tod Ave SW, Warren Ohio.
