Elizabeth Taninecz, 92, of Avon Lake and formerly of Warren, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 6:25 pm. at Independence Village in Avon Lake.
Elizabeth was born July 26, 1926 in Bairdford, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Sterchak Kobasiar.
A homemaker, she was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Warren and attended St. Innocent Orthodox Church in Olmsted Falls.
Elizabeth was married on November 8, 1952 to George Taninecz and they were married for 49 years until his passing on May 4, 2002.
She is survived a daughter Eileen (Richard) McClellan of Avon Lake; her grandson Matthew (Kelly) McClellan; two great grandchildren Samuel and Maxwell McClellan and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by siblings Ann Kobasiar, Metro Kobasiar and Helen Hopkins.
A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to the services in the church. Fr. Jonathan H. Cholcher, Rector will officiate.
Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
