Gloria M (DeMartini) Markowitz

Gloria M. Markowitz, 85, of Howland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren following a brief illness.

She was born on August 4, 1933 in Warren the daughter of the late Aldo and Mary DeMartini and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.

Gloria was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1954 and went on to work as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a labor and delivery and surgical nurse for 25 years.

She was an excellent seamstress.  She enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra’s music, doing needlepoint and card club.

Many loving memories of Gloria will be carried on by her husband of 63 years Robert; their children Michele (Louis) Markowitz, Robert Jr., Dawn (James) Villio and Mark (Jan); six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister Jackie Panyard and a brother Ray (Theresa) DeMartini.

Besides her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by two infant grandsons and two brothers.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services observed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Gloria’s name to St. Joseph Cancer Center,667 Eastland Ave SE, Warren, Ohio 44484.
