William G. Wilson, 88, of Champion, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 19, 2018 at home. He was born February 18, 1930 in Warren, the son of Alfred W. and Rita (Livingston) Wilson, and had lived in the area all his life.
A 1948 graduate of Champion High School, Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a radio man, calling in air strikes, during the Korean War. He worked at Van Huffel and enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, and talking with the neighbors.
He is sadly missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Louella (Bryan) Wilson, whom he married October 8, 1954; three children: Debbie (Harley) West of Champion, William “Butch” Wilson of Leavittsburg, and James (Lisa) Wilson of Champion; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Kristina, B.J., Patrick, Quentin, Sara, and Benjamin; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frederick Wilson of Colorado.
His parents precede him in death.
Per his request, services are private. Cremation is taking place.
