BAZETTA TOWNSHIP – Carl W. Roose, Jr., lifelong area resident, passed away at his home Sunday, May 24, 2020.  He was born June 13, 1948 in Warren, the son of Carl W., Sr. and Harriet  “Betty” A. Dutrey.

Carl proudly served this country enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1968. Honorably serving during the Vietnam War. He received the Bronze Star and the other accommodations for his service.  Carl graduated from Lakeview High School class of 1966, where he ran track. Carl participated in his class reunions. He also graduated from the University of South Carolina and spent his career in sales and marketing with IBS, DuPont and lastly Delphi.

Carl was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, performing many functions and baptisms. He belonged to the Elks and the American Legion of Cortland, was a big fan of Indians baseball and South Carolina football, golfed in several leagues, and enjoyed gardening.

He is sadly missed by his wife, Susan Rowley; two sisters: “Mickey” Wilson and Kelly Mills (Jack); three brothers, Kevin Kennedy, Steve Kennedy, Dale Kennedy; and nieces and nephews. Many friends also grieve Carl.

His parents and his stepfather, Art Kennedy, precede him in death.

Cremation is taking place, in accordance with his wishes. His urn will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s name may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Champion Ohio.
