Catherine Barger

WARREN – Catherine Barger, age 87, lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Addison Healthcare Center in Masury.  She was born October 8, 1932 in Warren, the daughter of Larry and Mary (Anastasia) Spano.

Catherine graduated from Warren G. Harding High school and, together with her husband, owned Katie’s Restaurant in Warren.  She was very active in local politics and had worked with many public officials.  She enjoyed playing cards and going to Mountaineer and other casinos.

She is sadly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Roselyn Spano of Warren; one nephew, Frank Spano (Diane) of Warren; one niece, Ellen Spano of Warren; and other family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Larry and Mary Spano, and her loving husband of nearly twenty-one years, John S. “Jack” Barger, whom she married June 25, 1960 and who passed April 28, 1981.

Services are private.  Interment will take place at All Souls Cemetery.
