Warren- Douglas R. Gradishar, 72, of Champion, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Heritage Manor in Youngstown under the comforting care of Hospice.
He was born Monday, June 20, 1949, in Warren the son of the late Frank “Jim” and Ann Hrusovsky Gradishar and was a lifelong area resident.
Doug owned and operated B & J Market and retired from Geauga Farms Country Meats where he was a meat cutter. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Champion.He enjoyed working out in the woods. Doug enjoyed working and helping others, was a coin collector and was an animal lover. He loved spending time with his family especially all his grandchildren. Doug was an Ohio State Buckeye fan, rooted for the Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Colts.
Doug is survived by his wife of 53 years the former Madelene Plaisted whom he married on February 10, 1968; a daughter Andrea (Bradley) Yocum of Texas; two sons Brent (Dawanna) Gradishar of South Carolina and Scott (Holly) Gradishar of Champion; by seven grandchildren Briana (Brian) Juart, Caitlin (Daniel) Linger, Emily (Kevin) Holland, Zachary Gradishar, Noah Gradishar, Gabrielle Gradishar and Luke Gradishar; and by a great grandson Jameson Michael Juart. He is also survived by his brother Randolph “Randy” (Beth) Gradishar of Colorado and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his grandson Aiden Gradishar and by a brother Ronald J. Gradishar.
Per Doug’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service and a cremation will take place.
