Frances G. Cetina, 81, of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:55 a.m. at Windsor House at Champion with her loving family by her side.
Fran was born Sunday, March 10, 1940 in Warren the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes M. Harcarik Kazimer and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1957 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, she furthered her education by graduating from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a RN.
On April 8, 1961, Fran married Joseph “Sonny” Cetina Jr. and they were married for almost 50 memorable years until his passing on January 16, 2010. To this union four children were born Michael, James, Connie and Christine. Frances enjoyed their growing years and was involved in their school activities, sporting activities, scouting and later in life all her grandchildren’s endeavors.
She was a member of the former St. Pius X Catholic Church in Warren, where she was a member of its Altar & Rosary Society and helped with its church festival. After its closing, Fran went back to the church in which she was raised in and joined St. Elizabeth Ann Seton-SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Warren.
Fran enjoyed traveling, camping, touring all the United States except for Maine and Washington. She loved cruising the Caribbean; camping with friends, playing cards and bingo at Warren SCOPE and going to the casino. The holidays were special to her and she immensely enjoyed spending them with all her family near and far.
She will forever be missed by her four children Michael (Connie) Cetina of Warren, James (Patricia) Cetina of Mineral Ridge, Constance “Connie” (John) Cvengros of Champion and Christine (Chris) Irwin of Lordstown; her grandchildren Brian (Samantha) Cetina, Patrick Cetina, Tyler Cetina, Ethan (Katelyn) Cetina, Hannah Cetina, Jennifer (Nick) Stoian, Joseph (Katie) Cvengros, Gregory Irwin and Jessica Irwin; and by two great grandchildren Mason and Emelia and her beloved dog Bentley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her only sister Joan (Ronald) Gilronan.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass, with Fr. Christopher Cicero officiating, will be offered on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Site, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home prior to leaving for the church.
Burial will conclude in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Fran’s name to the Heritage Fund of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, Ohio 44484.
