Lewis C. Powell

WARREN – Lewis C. Powell, age 68, lifelong area resident, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 24, 2020 at his home.  He was born February 20, 1952 in Warren, the son of Henry L. and Bernice (Graves) Powell.

Lewis was a 1970 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and served his country honorably in both the United States Army and Navy.   He retired from Thomas Steel Strip Corp. and was especially fond of sports, fishing, and loud debates.

Precious memories of Lewis live on with his son, Lewis C. Powell II of Warren; two daughters, Shaizette Johnson of Warren and Lacarla McMillian of Warren; thirty-five grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four sisters: Kathleen Powell Brown (William) of Warren, Janet P. Madden of Virginia, Marlene Powell Cox (Anthony) of Warren, and D’edra Powell Hudson (Augustus)  of Douglasville, Ga.; and four brothers: Agin Rashad of Warren, Henry L. Powell, Jr. of Warren, Thomas Powell of Warren, and Terry Stevens of Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him and thought the world of him.

His parents, Henry L. and Bernice Powell, precede him in death.

Services are 11:00 am Monday, August 3, 2020 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Rev. Avan Odom officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home.
