Martha Elaine Keister Resh

1928-2024

WARREN - Martha Elaine Keister Resh, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Nov.10, 2023, at the age of 94.

Elaine was the oldest girl of nine children, born to parents, Harry and Elizabeth Hamilton Keister. Elaine was born on Christmas Day, 1928, in Zihlman, Maryland.

On July 1, 1950, Elaine married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Resh in Eckart, Maryland. Elaine and Bob relocated to Warren, Ohio for better opportunities, and where they set down roots and raised their family. They celebrated 72 blessed and beautiful years of marriage together, before Bob’s passing in June 2023.

Elaine was a beautiful soul that gave everything to her family. She was a homemaker that adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing board games, card games, and traveling. Her favorite places to travel were back to her hometown in Maryland, as well as to the annual Keister family picnic, where she enjoyed hours of talking, laughing, and catching up with her siblings and family. Elaine loved having her family together any chance she got, and to her they were everything she needed. Elaine and Bob hosted countless holidays and family occasions at their home, always making room for their growing family through the passing years.

She is survived by her four children, Carson Buydos of Warren, Jim (Cathy) Resh of Summerville, South Carolina, Johnna Ben of Mineral Ridge, and Lisa (John) Spelich of Warren; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Gloria) Keister, of Carlos, Maryland, Neil (Nancy) Keister of Frostburg, Maryland; sister-in-law, Donna Lee Wolfe of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her death were her husband, Bob; her parents; siblings, Harry, Mary, Bobby, Doris, Rae and Janice; son-in-law, James Buydos; and great-grandson, Marco Marcel Hill.

Calling hours are 4 to 5 p.m., with services to follow at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.
