Samuel C. Caffey Jr.

WARREN – Samuel C. Caffey Jr., 60, passed away, Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his residence. He was born December 1, 1962, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Samuel C. Caffey Sr. and Barbara J. Franklin Caffey.

Sam graduated from Chaney High School in 1981. He was employed as a R.T.S at Trumbull County Children Services Board for 36 years before retiring in 2021.

Sam accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was a longtime member of Beulah Temple United Holy Church where he served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board. He played the drums, was a member of the choir, and taught Sunday School, most recently serving in the capacity of an usher. He was concerned about the welfare of the church.

Sam used his creative gifts in graphic design to enhance the church. He was also very creative in clothing designs. He was a loving husband, father and brother, gave his all for his family.

The legacy of Samuel lives on with his wife of 34 years Barbaran Hughes Caffey, whom he married on July 22, 1989; son, Samuel Q. Caffey (Emily) of Cincinnati, daughter, Samarra Caffey of Youngstown, sisters, Debra Caffey of Youngstown, Felicia Lewis (Myron) of Akron, brother in law, Robert Hughes (Arbor) of Youngstown, sister in law, Bobrea Hughes-Robinson of Warren, a host of loving nieces and nephews who adored and looked up to him, and his aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. He was a friend to many and loved by all.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Samuel C. Caffey Sr. and Barbara J. Franklin Caffey.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Temple United Holy church, 523 Griffith St, Youngstown, OH 44510 where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Samuel will be laid to rest at Tod Homestead Cemetery following the service.
