Sonia Grimmett

Warren – Sonia Grimmett, 49, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, in an automobile accident in Nelson Township. She was born on November 27, 1973 in Warren Ohio, the daughter of Gregory L. Crawford and Donna Rae (McAllister) Craig.

Sonia was a graduate of Champion High School. People came to know and love her from working at Little Mac’s, General Motors, the internet and as a self-employed nail tech.

Sonia was loved by so many and had a heart of gold. She had a contagious smile and knew how to make you laugh! Sonia loved her family and friends more than words could describe and would do anything, for anyone.  She also had a strong passion for music and drawing (especially palm trees). She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. Sonia’s life moto was to live today like it’s your last and she did just that. The world was not ready to lose her beautiful presence. Rest in peace beautiful angel we will miss you!

She is survived by her husband, Tim Grimmett; her mother, Donna Craig (Robert); son, Austin Applequist; daughter, Alexa Applequist; stepson, Paul Kaldy (Stacie); stepdaughter, McKenzie Grimmett; brother, Jason Crawford and grandson Jaxon Applequist, whom she loved as big as her heart.

Sonia was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Calling hours will take place from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home at 962 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.  Committal will take place on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Champion Township Cemetery in Warren.
