Tammie Williams Obituary

HOWLAND – Tammie Jo Williams, 60, of Demura Drive SE, passed away at 1:39 pm Thursday March 27, 2020 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 6, 1959 in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Joann Sayers Hite.  Tammie was a lifetime area resident, who was raised in Bazetta Township before moving to Howland in 1981.  She was a 1977 graduate of Lakeview High School, where she was active in the Marching Band and Drama Club.

She married David Williams on April 25, 1981, at Bazetta Christian Church, where she was a lifelong member.

Tammie was employed by Anthem Blue Cross for thirty-four years.  She worked as a business change manager at the time of her passing.

She loved being involved in the Howland community, where she served as an adult leader with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and later with the Boy Scouts.  Her legacy is that a number of these young women considered her their second “Mom,” and were in continual contact with her.

In addition to her dog, Tucker, and her ruby red Ford Flex, Tammie enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR, and watching Howland and West Virginia University athletics. But Tammie always considered her biggest blessings to be the time spent with her family and friends, planning family events and raising her “Little Peanut,” Karisma.

In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her son, Kenny, of Howland; her daughter, Elizabeth, and companion, Becca Greenawalt, of Watertown, Conn.; her granddaughter, Karisma of Masury; her brother, Rusty (Linda) Hite of Vienna; two sisters, Dianna (George) Neil of Fowler and Becky (Pat) Litowitz of Boardman; sisters-in-law Luanne Hite and Debbie (Ralph) Glosser, both of Champion; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Tammie is preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Bud” Hite and infant sister, Patricia.

Tammie’s good life will be celebrated with a service at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home.  Those who enter the building are asked to wear a mask and observe social distancing practices.
